Akanka 3.0 — Behind our Evolution

Akanka 3.0 — Behind our Evolution
March 31, 2018 Akanka

Driven by a passion for good design we started Akanka about 2.5 years ago. We began with no experience in design, but aimed to learn fast as we grew. Since then, we’ve gone through several phases to where we currently are.

We have always treated Akanka like an app, with periodic updates, and with each update referred to in-app nomenclature; hence Akanka 1.0, 2.0, and the current 3.0. This has allowed us consistently evolve as we are reminded by this nomenclature that our design and features are never complete, inspiring us to consistently evolve and adopt new features.

In line with adopting new features, we’re excited to reveal 3.0 with our major visible changes in three parts:
*our identity
* our website
* our services.

We’ve upgraded our identity to align with Akanka’s dynamic culture. This new website reflects a greater sense of the beauty and simplicity our work is known for. The evolution in our services was inspired by observing our clients’ holistic needs as we began to offer more services outside the boundaries of brand identity; hence, we’ve expanded our range of services within our brand identity and we’ve also moved to two more areas outside of that: design strategy and analytics.

New Brand Identity Services

For those who struggle to find compelling names for their businesses, products, or services, we’ve got them covered with our new naming service that takes the hassle of research off their hands, while ensuring that the end product accurately and effectively projects them, their product or their service.

Design Strategy | Analytics

With design strategy, we help clients craft new, cohesive, and compelling experiences behind their businesses, using design thinking and design sprint techniques.

Also, we’ve noticed a rising demand in clients’ desires to figure out how data can provide insight that helps grow their businesses. Consequently, we’re introducing analytics as a service, which will range from data visualization (helping clients tell compelling data-driven stories) to data strategy (which will help businesses evolve by developing data-driven processes). Oh…one more thing — some machine learning services will be included later on this year. 🤖

We’re Global

One less visible, but strong indicator of our growth has been the expansion of our services to other countries beyond Nigeria. From an Ivy League institution executing a development project in Kenya to a nonprofit in the Netherlands working on health advocacy across numerous countries. We’ve been around the block — or in this case, the globe. Now we’re making it formal and opening our doors to anyone who wants to work with us irrespective of their location. Welcome 🙂
